We’re on a role lately, adding several new features to help your site compete and succeed. Most of the changes were requests by a new ezine site on our CMS – MajaMag.com. Since the system was primarily built for publishing video and photo content, some upgrades were needed to more easily manage & publish articles.
The newest upgrade is the integration of the Disqus comment system. Disqus is a comment system that integrates with many major social sites, like Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr, allowing users to comment on your site using their login from one of those communities.
Using Disqus comments replaces the default comment system (provided by js-kit). Disqus comments are moderated through your Disqus account. To sign up for a Disqus account go to Disqus.com. Once you sign up enter your website’s SHORT NAME in the Configuration page of the CMS.
We also added an option to completely disable comments on your site. Helpful if you don’t want feedback from the peanut gallery!

We installed a major upgrade to the articles admin over the weekend. Most of the changes were visual, to make it easier to manage your articles.

New Articles Admin Formatting.
The biggest addition was a new RSS Feed Scraper. Now you can automatically add articles to your site from any compliant RSS feed.
This works great if you want to import news from another website or create a huge collection of articles really fast.
Check out the play-by-play below to see it in action.

Add RSS Feeds from the Section Overview.

Choose Auto or Manual Approval of Articles.
The CMS automatically scrapes all RSS Feeds every few minutes and adds any articles not yet on your website. New articles can be automatically published when received or set inactive for your approval.

List of new articles in Section list with Easy Preview.
As always, if you have any questions or problems please contact CMS support.

Hey guys I know its been awhile since I updated the CMS news. We’ve been doing a ton of custom installs lately and haven’t had time to write an update.
Now we have a huge update for you!
As you know, you can manually add passes to your site in the CMS by clicking USERS > PASSFILE > Manual Passes. We’ve now added an expiration option too.

You can choose ‘never’ for a permanent username, ‘on date’ to choose a date for the username to expire, or a number of days until it expires (such as 30 day from today).
Very simple to use and should give you more control over your manually entered passes.
A related upgrade is the addition of a Partner Site admin. In Porn CMS go to USERS > Partner Sites.
This allows you to give access to users of another website (or one of your own sites). Once you add a site in the Partner Sites list, you’ll receive a LINK for the partner site to post on their pages.
When their visitors click-through to your site, they are automatically given a free pass to your site. Their pass expires after 1-day, so to visit your site again (for free) they will have to click the link at the partner site.
This tool was built to allow you to use your site as a bonus site for another site. That means with this tool, you can link unlimited numbers of sites together in a ring or network
We’re always working on the CMS, even if we don’t post news. If you see something new and have questions, please send us an email or contact us by Skype. We’re online daily.

We added a really easy to use Photoshop-style Photo Set editor to Porn CMS over the weekend. This editor allows you do several things to your posted photos, such as rotate, stylize, add text, and filter a couple dozen different ways. Here is a quick step-by-step guide to using the new Photo Editor.

One of the biggest worries running a website is the constant threat of attacks. Thousands of hackers, hobbyists, and bored schoolkids continuously bombard web servers in the hopes of “cracking” a box. Sometimes their purpose is malicious harm, but mostly they are just trying to prove something to themselves.
Porn websites receive a majority of all web attacks due to the high value of their content. Some of the servers we manage see half a million hacker hits a month.
This week one of these little bastards succeeded in compromising one of the 40 servers under our control. They came in through a hacked FTP login and took over the server.
We discovered the hacker’s entry within a few minutes when we got an alert that the server password had been changed. However we could no longer access the server. Our only solution was to wipe the server and reload everything.
Now here’s the good part. Porn CMS data is XML / flat-file based and backed up several times a day. Since there’s no database, that means the data is highly portable, easy to back up, and even easier to restore.
The only thing we don’t automatically back up is the content. We charge $95 a month for full daily remote server backups. In situations like this, you can see its well worth the cost.
Luckily with this server, the websites were fully backed up on a remote server. So all we had to do was flip a switch and everything was running again.
If you are a Porn CMS client, and you aren’t taking advantage of our remote server backup service, we’d highly recommend that you add the service today. Peace of mind is priceless!

We’ve increased our programming and design staff over the last few months to include some highly talented guys. Our growth has enabled us to start many new improvement projects.
Here’s some of the Porn CMS features coming soon:
We also just added a new Mini Updates Calendar in the photo and video admins allowing you to quickly find your updates for editing. The new calendar is below the list of updates in the left column of those admin pages. The large updates calendar, that shows all updates in one place, can still be found under Content > Schedule.

Any questions please let us know. Thanks!

Here’s a great live help chat software that shows you when a visitor hits your site and lets you open a chat session with them:
http://www.providesupport.com/p/porncms
Visitors can also open a live chat with you from the button on your site or send you a message when you are offline. The operator (you) runs chat software on their computer similar to most messenger software (like AIM, MSN, etc) that alerts you when new visitors hit the site or when they start a chat session.
Its very cheap – only $15 for 1 operator, $30 for 3, and $60 for 10. Plus a 10-day free trial to see if it works for you.
Imagine chatting with visitors and actively converting them to members!!
i’m pretty sure it hasn’t been done before in porn lol
Its easy to drop the button into the header of your Porn CMS site or ask us and we’ll help you get it installed right away.

We did a massive security upgrade over the past few weeks that gives our site owners more control over visiting traffic. We don’t store member info in the CMS, since that information should be stored in your billing or affiliate system, but we do manage and track usernames and IPs. The following two modules will help you gain control over your users and traffic.
SECURITY MODULE
In your Porn CMS admin you’ll notice a new SECURITY module. Click it and you’ll see a page with four boxes: settings, banned IPs, banned users, and traffic log.
The settings allow you to throttle your traffic and effectively put a stop to any rogue hacker attacks by limiting the amount of clicks and bandwidth allowed by visitors. All settings are defaulted OFF. To enable a setting, simply adjust the value, then check back to see if anyone was banned.
Porn CMS checks the traffic log every minute to hunt for violations, then bans the user’s IP or username immediately. You can override the system for any username or IP easily in this module.
At the bottom of the module is a traffic monitor. This shows the day’s traffic (more detailed traffic is available in your DASHBOARD). Click on an IP or username in the traffic monitor to filter the results. IP history is saved for one day and username history is stored as far back as the username is in use.
PASSFILE MODULE
We added a second security module to the system for managing usernames. The PASSFILE module shows all usernames in each password file on your site and allows you to add, re-add, delete, or view a username’s history. You can also manually add guest passes in the PASSFILE module by choosing the Manual Passes file.
As always, if you have any questions, send us an email and we’ll get back to you right away.
